Welcome to your 1st HSA HOUSTON HIGH SCHOOL-WIDE VIRTUAL SCIENCE FAIR  Project Submission site. 

You'll use Google Site to showcase your project submission. 

Adding your own content is as easy as clicking the Edit page button at the top right of every page. 

Please note that the contents of your Google Site will be viewable by the public. 

Your assignments for this tab are BELOW: 

ASSIGNMENT 01.1: Register to the related Science Fair Teacher.

Then, choose template, create your site, and share according to guidelines provided below.

Q: How can I create my Google site?
A: Step1: Log in to your firstname.lastname.harmony@GMail.com account
    Step2: Click "More"
    Step3: Click "sites"
    Step4: Click "create a site"
    Step5: Search for "HSA HOUSTON HIGH Science Fair 2012"(YOU CAN SIMPLY SEARCH "hsa") and select it as the template of your website. 
                Attention! : if your event is STEM EXPO , you will not browse or select any template. Just create a blank website
    Step6: Name your site.
    Step7: Type the code at the end of page and click on "create page".
    
    
Q: Is there any certain format that I must name my website?
A: Yes, name your site in the following format: hsa-2011-firstname-2digitnumber

Q: How can I share my Google site?
A: 
    1. log in to your Gmail
    2. click "more"
    3. click "sites"
    4. click on your site that you have just created
    5. click "more actions"
    6. click "site permissions"
    7. add the teacher(s) email , choose the option “owner” or “can edit” 
    8. click  “share and save”.

Also do not upload a photo that identifies you. This is going to be a part of scientific website you should upload a scientific profile picture , using the picture of your demo will be a good idea.
How to change your profile name ?
  • Log in to YOUTUBE
  • Right click on your gmail address/channel name on the right up corner
  • Click on "settings"
  • Click "Profile setup"
  • Change tour name. You can use the format "hsa-2011-firstname-2digitnumber"  OR use your science fair topic as a profile name

4- Register for  PICASA and Upload one profile photo to your PICASA album

Q:Where is my PICASA link
click on the PHOTOS under your username and there you will see your PICASA link in address bar , something like 

Notifications:

1-The instructors have the right to change, omit or add to the assignments and rules if needed.

2- The students are responsible for their personal Gmail , any Google sites Google docs , PICASA albums constructed for the science event.They can only be used for school science event. The e-mail system ,Google sites , Google docs , PICASA albums may not be used to create any offensive or disruptive messages. Among those which are considered offensive are any messages that contain sexual implications, racial or gender-specific slurs, or any other comment that offensively addresses an individual’s age, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, national origin, disability, or anything that could be construed as harassment or disparaging of others.

3- Students may not use e-mail or Google sites to send, receive or post materials, proprietary financial information, or other similar materials that violate copyright law. Students will be responsible for any content in their Google personal site that violates copyright law.

4- The students are responsible to provide their Gmail account information to their parents.

What If you don't have internet access at home?
Every Thursday between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM computer lab will be open to students who need to work on their science assignments.
Sign up with your science teacher by Wednesday 4:00PM. Sign-up lists will provided to computer teachers by your science teacher.
